London City Airport 2024
At the beginning of 2024, I worked with creative studio Intercity on a brand awareness campaign for London City Airport (LCY).
We pitched the idea to run a series of ads that would articulate the brand truth that there’s something undeniably appealing about flying from London’s smallest, most efficient, and most central airport. And once you have… well, you won’t really fancy the faff of flying from the “big boys”.
We wanted the campaign to be bold and eye-catching whether displayed on large DOOH screens or on tiny web banners – so we looked to the heaviest (and previously unused by the brand) weight of LCY’s corporate typeface to display short, punchy copy lines that playfully communicate the brand message in a way that felt both aspirational and fun. We also used this phase as an opportunity to highlight and celebrate the fact that LCY is London’s highest rated airport – by both Google users and Which? customers.
