Information is beautiful awards
When data visualisation experts Information Is Beautiful set up a separate website to champion and promote its annual awards, they asked me to create and publish regular editorial content over a period of a few weeks leading up to their 2014 awards winners announcement and awards night.
I was briefed to adopt their tone of voice, research and post regular blog stories about inspiring data viz projects and corresponding social media posts.
And so it came to pass that I wrote a series of short, snappy posts highlighting projects from around the world that visualised data relating to diverse topics from how Louisiana is disappearing under water, to how an American citizen’s geographical location probably dictates whether they use the word “uh” or “um” when they speak.
