When California winemaker and bon vivant Jim Clendenen passed away unexpectedly on 15 May 2021, aged just 68, the wine professionals of the world responded unanimously as one. Thousands of tributes issued forth in newspapers, newsletters, and on wine-focused blogs and social media feeds; outpourings of sorrow and loss, and stories of how Clendenen, and the wine produced at his Santa Barbara winery Au Bon Climat (ABC), had touched and inspired so many people around the world….
